On Monday I took a trip to one of my Local Yarn Stores. Klose Knits in Urbana is an amazing yarn store (with a fiber room for those who spin coming soon!!!). Every time I go there I’m amazed by how nice the people who work there are. I didn’t buy any yarn but The Penguin did buy me some size 4 dpns because I just wasn’t getting gauge on the color work socks that I had started. He’s such a sweetheart. 🙂 But one of the people that works there showed me a cowl she had knit using chunky wool. I know a lot of people are knitting cowls right now but I just couldn’t see why. I love my scarf (even though it isn’t one I knit myself) and it keeps me plenty warm. I just didn’t understand the point of this tiny knitted item until the lady let me try the one she made on. I slipped it over my head, adjusted it on my neck, pulled my hair out from the back, and the light bulb went on. These things are so warm! And comfy! I get now! The woman mentioned that she found the pattern on Ravelry but I haven’t found it yet. If only I could remember the name of the pattern. I may just have to go back to the store and talk to her again soon. I’m smitten!
