What I think I love most about kids is their ability to love just about anything. They have great imaginations and one little girl’s mother wanted me to make her skunk mittens. The reason? “She loves them because no one else does.” Awwwwwwwwwwwwww. *melts* So of course I happily knit her some mittens to go along with a really awesome skunk hat she already had. Of course I ended up making up a pattern because skunk mittens aren’t exactly all the rage right now, but I am happy with the way things turned out:
Ta-dah! I love love LOVE them! 🙂 I finished them just yesterday. They are flip top mittens so she can flip the top back and open doors and such. 🙂 I am making a pair of cabled flip top mittens for myself, but only after I finish all that blasted holiday knitting!
Oh, and if you haven’t read this article yet, little Katie was being bullied for carrying a Star Wars water bottle to school. And now this Friday, December 10th is Wear Star Wars Shirt Day. I don’t own any Star Wars shirts, but I will be wearing one of my geek shirts with pride! Support Katie and show the world that bullying just isn’t cool!
