It took until today to completely recover from this weekend. Due to temporary insanity on my part, this weekend ended up being a non-stop adventure! Friday night I went and picked up the hubs and bestie Marcus so that we could drive an hour and a half to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part I in IMAX. The drive and subsequent seat searching was well worth it! I donned my Gryffindor shirt and matching scarf for the occasion, and was happily blown away by easily the best movie of the series so far. No spoilers here, but I can say this: it ended at just the right place, did the book justice, and made me cry. What could be better?
After getting home at 3am and passing out, my alarm went off at 7am because we had friends coming in an hour to drive to Cincinnati for a day trip. (Did I mention I had lost my mind?) We managed to climb out of bed and get ourselves together just in time for our friends to show up. I was a little nervous about the trip because the fog was so dense you couldn’t see three feet in front of the car, but we made it to our first stop without issues. Tim found a restaurant that he was all excited about online, and so we stopped at First Watch for lunch/brunch. The meal was amazing! And First Watch happened to be right around the corner from our next stop: IKEA! We ended up getting separated inside, but we had a great time and found some pretty cool things to organize our home. After that we went to Jungle Jim’s. This is the kind of place you have to see to believe! It’s an international food market with a very..eclectic flair. In fact, it was so interesting I couldn’t help but take out my phone and take a few pictures. Here are a few highlights from inside the store:
This is the first thing you see as you enter the store. If you look carefully in the background you can see a vintage (or ancient) Campbell’s Soup can on a swing. It does move, but I never heard it talk.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg. I could have spent hours in the store trying to capture every last thing there was to see! And after all that excitement, we went to Lulu’s Rice & Noodle House for dinner. And finally, we climbed back into the car and came home.
Thankfully, Sunday we were lazy bums because I don’t think I could have dealt with more fun than I had already had! Hope you had a good weekend too!
