Roughly a month ago I decided to take on the challenge of making shampoo. My husband had just run out and my bottle was running pretty low, so we decided that we would take the plunge together. (No pun intended!) I decided to use castile soap as the base. The ratio for good lathery shampoo is 1oz of soap for every 7oz of water. Then I infused the water with mint and rosemary, because we both have dandruff. I simply warmed up my water and put 1 tsp of rosemary and 1 tsp of mint in a tea ball and let it seep for about 15 minutes before adding the water to the soap. My husband doesn’t use conditioner but I do. I have been using a 1 to 1 ratio of water and apple cider vinegar. I will admit that it actually took a little while to get my hair adjusted to the new shampoo and conditioner (about two weeks) but once it did my hair was so much stronger and shinier. 🙂 I highly recommend switching from chemical laden shampoo to a more natural alternative!
