Fall is right around the corner and that means lots and LOTS of rain around these parts. Normally, I would bring my dripping wet umbrella into the house and stick it in the tub until it was dry. However, having a bathtub full of wet umbrellas is not always the most ideal situation. So I came up with the “trash can umbrella holder!”
You will need these:
I used clear drying fabric glue, about a yard of fabric (I would suggest getting less though unless you want the leftovers), scissors, and a cheap plastic garbage can from the office section of my local grocery store.
All you need to do is hold the fabric up to the underside of the lip of your garbage can (if it has one, if not then to the top of the garbage can). Then use your scissors to cut your fabric so that the bottom is just long enough that it curls under the garbage can. After you’ve cut your fabric simply use the glue to attach the fabric. I made a zigzag pattern from the top to the bottom. Let the can dry and voila!
The result:
One I get this sewing thing under control I plan to use my left over fabric to make a cute throw pillow!
