I am still a novice when it comes to spinning fiber. I would really like to get a more even hand before I commit to buying a spinning wheel. I have quite a few bats of fiber and I would like to really get good at spinning sock weight yarn and worsted weight yarn for sweaters. I have a subscription to Spin Off but their techniques are well beyond me. Also, I have a hard time picturing the way fiber will turn out once it’s spun. I have several different fibers saved on Etsy with the intent of possibly purchasing some, and I know I like the colors of the fiber when they are un-spun but I just can’t picture how they will all turn out. I know you can spin self striping yarn, but again I want an even hand before I try something like that. For example, I love this fiber from To-Ply Fiber’s website:
The colorway is called Snowy Pines and I think it’s just lovely. I imagine it would have the brown and green slowly fading between the cream, but again until I physically spin it, I just can’t picture it. Does anyone else have this problem?
