2009 has been a long and interesting year. It has been about hope, change, loss, learning, love, and experimentation. Before 2009, I never had a garden. This year it was a total experiment. Our attitude was “let’s stick some seeds in the ground and see what happens!” I made my first lace shawl this year and fell in love. I tried and failed to make a pair of Fair Isle socks. And that’s okay, because I learned a lot in the process. I made my first non-stockenette stitch socks, and re-fell in love with sock making. There were times when I was scared, times when I was elated, times when I was lonely, and times when I was surrounded by people I love and who love me in return for who I am. 2009 was a trying year. 2009 taught me that I can be a better, stronger, more resourceful person.
I will start 2010 going back to school for the first time since 2003. Things are going to change and get better.
Oh and 2009…don’t let the door hit in the ass on your way out.
