As promised these are Old Fashioned Sour Cream Cookies! They are so moist and delicious I just know if you try them, you will love them! (Thanks again Grandma!!!!)
Mix together: 1/2 cup soft shorting
1 1/2 cup sugar
Stir in: a cup thick sour cream
1 tsp. vanilla
Sift together & stir in:
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 3/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
Chill for 1 hour. Drop rounded tsp. about 2″ apart on un greased cookie sheet. Bake until delicately browned. Just until when lightly touched with finger, almost no imprint remains.
Bake 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool.
Frost with a frosting made of lemon juice and powdered sugar. Enjoy!
*Just a warning: when you mix the confectioners sugar and lemon juice, use the lemon juice sparingly. Otherwise you end up with really sour cookies!!!
