My little sister is a genius! I was talking to her on the phone and I was explaining my woes of having so many projects on the needles and even more that need to be done. I made a commitment right then and there that I will have completely empty needles by December 31st, 2009. But I just didn’t know how to get organized so I could chart my progress. My sister suggested that I use Excel (or rather the Open Office version I have) to put all my projects into phases. So now I have a several page spread sheet filled with phases of various projects and it’s been so motivating and exciting to see all my projects lined up and ready to go. I’m really close to completing the first phase of a project on the list and I can feel myself getting more and more excited. I’ve got my highlighter out and it’s ready and raring to go! I even decided that my Aunt would really love the Shipwreck Shawl from Knitty and once I broke it down into phases it didn’t seem scary at all. In fact I’m now confident that I can knock that bad boy out with no problem!
I plan to use this method for other parts of my life as well. Being organized is fun! (I never thought I’d say that in my life!)
P.S. My family is growing by one this weekend and I’ll be posting pictures of him soon.
